'Pinakes ["little squares" in Greek] are the commonest ex-voto found in Locri.
The over 5300 fragments from over 170 different types of scene make them a unique collection in Ancient Greek world...
They were made in series using dies and then painted with lively colours.
They were donated to Persephone by Locri's young maidens prior to marriage.'
