Roman work inspired by the statue of Athena on the East pediment of the Parthenon.
"The goddess is shown in animated motion.
In her left hand she holds a shield with an attachment in the shape of a winged gorgoneion.
According to the inscribed plinth, the statue was [initially] dedicated to Artemis."
