Terracotta Miniatures from Tanagra, Boeotia | Βοιωτία
2nd half of 4-3 c. BC.
.
"In the 2nd half of the 4th c. BC Boeotian terracotta workshops - inspired by the late classical art of Athens - began to produce clay statuettes in large numbers, in a refined and elegant way, mainly female figures in rich robes with lively draping.
A richly coloured palette gives them their characteristic appearance.
The most important centre was in the Boeotian town of Tanagra.."
