.
'..inside of the cella of the Temple of Apollo Alaios at Krimisa, the marble elements of an acrolith larger than life-size were recovered.
It was the cult statue at the center of the adyton, the inner part of the Temple.
The head has an unfinished skull and it is crossed by grooves functional to the housing of a false hair [a bronze wig or made up in flexible gold foil or even a canopy of gilded stucco on wooden frame].
In the eye sockets were inserted bronze sheet lashes and eyes made of composite materials.'
